Praxis exists to strengthen the creative community in Ottawa and Gatineau by giving artists a place to present their work, connect with each other, and engage with the public. We believe artists do their best work when they are part of an active, visible community, and Praxis is designed to help build that.

Each Praxis talk features four or five artists who briefly present their work through images and discussion. Praxis is fast-paced and inclusive, lightly curated to include a wide a range of styles, approaches and perspectives. Praxis is free and open to everyone.

Praxis is a program of Studio Space Ottawa, held at SSO's building on Kaladar Avenue and supported in part by the City of Ottawa. Artists at any stage of their career, working in any medium or method, can apply to speak. You do not need an exhibition history or public speaking experience.
